  • Nominate the types of marine debris making up 90% of the submission (plastic, rope, fishing line, crab pot mesh, thongs etc), other art supplies marking up 10% of the submission (paint, lighting, decorations etc) or medium (natural, man-made resources etc): (200 words maximum)
  • When you answer the above questions it should help you to describe what message you want your sculpture to provide the viewing public? (200 words maximum)

    Please attach a maximum of 4 photos of your sculpture from different angles and ensuring that 1 photo captures the sculpture overall. These photos need to be good quality, high resolution. Day time photos are best. In a standard file format of JPEG or PDF.
  • Submission of this entry implies permission to use the entrant’s name (christian name and surname) in materials displaying and announcing results of the Sculpture by Gladstone Harbour Marine Debris Sculpture Competition, and in any use by the Gladstone Harbour Festival & Events, Boyne Tannum HookUp Association Inc. and Gladstone Regional Council for promotion of the competition or the sculpture in their publications and website. Please note that entries will not be returned; unless collection is arranged by the sculptor and the organiser accepts no liability during handling for collection. Organisers may contact some sculptors to arrange to purchase some sculptures. In addition, some sculptures will be displayed around the Gladstone Region at locations and future events.
    1. Grant a non-exclusive and non-transferable license to the Gladstone Harbour Festival & Events and Boyne Tannum HookUp Association Inc. for the use of my sculpture & name – or - my child’s sculpture & name (if under the age of 18 years old) as authorized below.
    2. Warrant that I have the right to grant this license and that I have sole copyright ownership of the sculpture in question. Therefore, I relinquish financial compensation in any form for the use of the sculpture or name.
    3. Permission is granted for my photograph(s) – or – my child’s photograph(s) (if under the age of 18 years old) to be used by the Gladstone Harbour Festival & Events, Boyne Tannum HookUp Association Inc. and Gladstone Regional Council. In addition to, unlimited education and outreach uses - this includes, but are not limited to, display of photograph(s) on websites, in exhibits and brochures, as well as other educational materials.
    4. If there is any violation of this agreement by any party other than the Gladstone Harbour Festival & Events, Boyne Tannum HookUp Association Inc. and Gladstone Regional Council, I agree not to hold Gladstone Harbour Festival & Events, Boyne Tannum HookUp Association Inc. and Gladstone Regional Council responsible.
